I have been playing bass as a hobby for about fifty years, so while this is directed to beginners, it hardly needs to be limited to their use. I have two electric bases and decided it would be fun to have a bass that would produce audible sound without amplification. This came up offered at a good price, and I decided to try it. I have enjoyed it a lot. It feels good in hand. It is well intonated. It has a reasonable tone. It is simple in appearance but does not look cheap by any means. I think it would be great for a beginner, even if your primary play will be electric, just to have a reasonably inexpensive instrument at hand that you could pick up and use for practice without being bothered with plugging in.

This is not my first acoustic bass, but this will likely be my last... it's a keeper!

Great acoustic bass! I haven't played it plugged in yet, mostly because I'm just having so much fun playing it unplugged. I bought this because I wanted an acoustic bass for camping and playing on the porch or the street corner. Great price point for my needs. At $250 it's not a major investment and thus I feel good taking it camping or street minstreling but it still sounds great. It definitely has that upright bass sound to it, which is awesome. The fretboard is a little wide and chonky. It reminds me of playing my Rickenbacker as far as thickness of the fretboard.

This is just a review to say that I absolutely love this bass guitar. It was gift and it has propelled me and kept me creating every time I pick it up. Great sound, great range, the highs and the lows. You can play it with a pick or fingered and you will definitely find it comfortable. The color of the wood and grain as your run hand across it when you are too tired to play has the memory of the wood. This isn't really a review it's just my love letter to this bass to let everyone know it is an insane price for this quality.

This instrument is very disappointing. Ibanez has a strong reputation for making high-quality, entry-level guitars and basses. I have 4 of them. This unit appears to have not even had an inspection before leaving the factory. The fret wires were left too long and are so sharp they could cut skin if played. Overall finish quality was well below Ibanez standard. I returned the bass and got a full refund. Even for this price point, this item is unacceptable.

No complaint or criticism of this bass, with the exception of noisy wound strings. Easy fix for that: half round or tape wound strings. I'd get nylon tape wound. This bass has very good volume un-amped. Amped my only issue is that this guitar (like any guitar with an internal piezo pick-up) will produce feedback if too close to the amp's speaker. I play behind and off to one side when I'm amped. Finally, the bass is very well constructed, with a heavy feel. Overall, I feel it was well worth the price.
