It is sturdy and looks like it will last for years. I use it mainly for bread, liquids like water temp for yeast activation and water for certain herbal teas that don't tolerate high water temperatures. It works wonderfully to safely test for many microwaved foods and of course, bread from the oven. I don't eat meat so haven't tested it for that but I'm sure it would work. -

2025-01-03T00:00:00Overall, a good thermometer. One potential problem is the button for C / F. It can be switched easily w/o your knowledge. I found this out twice already. Don't want to ruin a good cut of meat or tempering chocolate.
