I did not need to return them as my husband simply removed the strainer part and placed my old strainer on the rubber part with stop and it works like a charm. I'm sure this was not made for a older manufacturer home sink so that's why it didn't fit. Although I wasn't able to use it as is, I'm happy with the final outcome without having to return them. It seals perfectly and catches food as it's my old catcher. No problems with cleaning and sturdy. They are stainless steel.
