2024-07-12T00:00:00I LOVE my Ninja Creami! But I will be the first to admit that it can be a little intimidating at first (frightening even, given the sounds that emanate from it), and it can feel like it has a steep learning curve (and I'm a tech reviewer and tech lawyer, and one of those people who generally just jumps in and figures things out without reading the manuals ("Manuals? We don't need no stinkin' manuals!"), so for me to feel like I'm not 'getting' something ..well, yeah. So if you are feeling a little bewildered by your new Ninja Creami, *you're not alone*!) Plus, the manual does *not* include certain information that I, at least, was looking for. Such as what do 'spin' and 're-spin' mean, and can you just spin again instead of respinning? How hot should the hot water be for slushies? Why does my Creami sometimes overflow and leak and how to make sure that doesn't happen? Can you really put in chunks of fruit before freezing? And just where are those damned 'freeze fill' and 'max fill' and 'pour-in' lines? Things like that. -

2024-12-05T00:00:00I have tried a ton of recipes and make my own up as I go. Lactose Intolerant is fine in our household. We've used coconut milk, silken tofu, bananas for the base, and all work well. I've made Cranberry for the season, Pumpkin Pie, and have several chocolate versions (chocolate orange, chocolate raspberry, decadent chocolate, blueberry, peach - LOVED, many fresh fruits or frozen bags of fruit. I have a housemate renting and we struggle to empty them fast enough to try another new recipe. Rose ice cream is a new favorite, and I'm wanting to try Hibiscus Rose Cardamon soon. Very easy to use recipeless. I justblend a Mori-Nu silken tofu (firm), flavor (frozen/fresh fruit, canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce) with 1/4 C sweetner (honey, maple syrup, monk fruit sweetner) and add enough almond milk to make 3C to fill the container. If I have too much, I drink the rest as a taste test. I've even cut up 2 peaches fresh, poured almond milk over it to cover fruit with a little vanilla extract, and froze for required time. That was one of the best versions I've ever had. Peaches were smoothly blended and fantastic flavor. I will suggest that the higher quality ingredients used (best oranges for juice, best peaches/nectarines, sweetest strawberries, etc.) makes a huge difference. For higher protein, we've added a chocolate protein powder as well as belgian hot cocoa mix that comes out pretty decadent. The rest is chocolate almond milk and dates or maple syrup sweetner. Really fun to try different things and write out new recipes. Very forgiving when creating new things. Some we don't like as well, we won't make again. But there are multiple favorites we have that it's hard to eat it fast enough. But with healthy recipes, it's the same as drinking a smoothie nutrition-wise. So now if supper is a tub of ice cream, it's guilt-free. -
