    EDIT: (original review below)

Where to start? I did a bit of research before purchasing this vacuum because I’m a big believer in reviews over marketing, and the reviews did not disappoint. The actual machine? A different story. Did I get the one lemon?? I’m so confused with everyone’s positive feedback. From the first moment I used it, I noticed how cumbersome it was to try to brace without the handle snapping in half for under-furniture cleaning. There was nearly no way to keep it from bending in half unless I was holding it just right. My forearm was sore after finishing the main floor (1,000 square feet) but it seemed to be removing the dirt and hair decently, so I pushed that frustration aside. The second cleaning, I started to notice how quickly the vacuum would register as being clogged. It started happening upwards of 5 times in a 10 minute session, sometimes immediately after emptying the canister. Often I would just turn it off and on, and the indicator would vanish for a bit. For reference, our household has a baby, two (clean) adults, and a collie. This thing could simply not keep up with my cleaning. Every time I’d empty the canister it would be a major cleanup on the floor and counter. I’d have to use chopsticks and silverware to wedge the fur out, and dirt would collapse out of the vacuum head on the floor. When I would use this on our tile and hardwood, I could feel it spitting the dirt back all over my feet, and it would take maybe 5-10 passes before it would look (mostly) dirt free. The whole boast of (was it 8 pound?) suction power seems very far fetched. I could barely get it to weakly suck up drywall residue when drilling a hole. When I would try to put it on full power, it would stay there for maybe a few seconds and then immediately jump back into a weak auto power. Often I would resort to the broom after spending 25 minutes on the house, and every time I’d feel frustrated, like I’d wasted so much time digging hair and dirt out of the sad machine. I also had to cut hair out of the bristles numerous times, even though it’s supposed to be tangle resistant. We got this vacuum especially because it was lauded as a great pet hair remover and I can tell ya right now, it is not suited for the job. I tried to return it, but my husband had discarded all the packaging and apparently it’s need for returns. After gritting our teeth for a month (and living in a silty and hairy house), we bit the bullet and bought a Dyson. HOLY MOLEY, what a difference. It removed a huge amount of dirt and hair and never a tangle! Easy no-mess emptying, even with the swirls of dog hair.

Not much to like here....The vac came in a box that had opened by a previous buyer. No manual was provided. When the power is turned off, some of the material picked up falls back out the bottom onto the floor. Additionally, the roller on the bottom tends to become disengaged. This was clearly a unit that had been returned for some reason. The sale price was approx. $140 and it probably is not worth that. However, returning it isn't worth the inconvenience to me.
