I have a second set ready to go and will swap them out every three weeks. Cleaning is super easy: rinde them in a bucket, then put them in the provided mesh bag and into the washing machine and air dry. I am done with sand!

I knew that whichever way I went I wanted a quality brand and these did not disappoint! They are almost like fuzzy cotton balls, but they are very durable. My pool last year was IMPOSSIBLE to keep clear, after switching filters and using filter balls I realized I made the right choice for multiple reasons! 1. These filter balls are WAY lighter than sand. Which made installation a breeze. 2. They are washable! They even come with a mesh bag to wash them in! And 3-SUPER easy to change out. My pool is now going on 5 weeks with these filter balls, all I've added was shock and a chlorine tab and my water has been crystal clear! 2023-07-09T00:00:00These sounded like a good idea and I had high hopes, but they are a solid no. They never allowed full flow through our Sand Dollar filter from day one, but it just got worse and worse. Even upon day one, the fountain wouldn’t work. Eventually they restricted almost all flow, overworking our pump to the point of it getting hot. I removed them today and they were disgusting. The tubes were clogged and the whole filter was full of trash. I did weekly backwashing and rinsing, but it didn’t help. If you have a sand filter, just use sand. Upon replacing these with sand, we have a full functioning filter system again, fountain and all. -

2024-08-08T00:00:00I have added 3 bags of balls to my filter and when I back wash, I am not noticing any dirty water coming out of the filter hose. Are they working? With sand, I would see dark water that was draining out.
