I purchased this along with skimmer socks and I am so excited for how perfect it is working!! The skimmer socks are a MUST for catching those small particles and bugs. The skimmer itself was easy to set up and came with the hose attachments to fit the pool set up. No more daily manual skimming for this girl! -

2024-04-25T00:00:00The skimmer is working although I did break the back bracket putting it on the pool for what it is. It’s worth 20 bucks I wouldn’t pay much more than that for it. We’ll see how long it lasts. -

2024-09-01T00:00:00This skimmer is ok for anybody just looking to have a skimmer without making any alterations to your pool. Not very effective. It catches some debris. The design is it's flaw. Plastic after 1 season is noticeably faded from contact with the chlorinated water. Looks to be susceptible to becoming brittle. I'll find out this next season. Go with a different product, with a better design to not allow debris to miss the skimmer. Better yet, get a hold of your pool manufacturer and get their advice on approved alternative skimmers

The up and down adjustment could be easier to work, but if you are patient, you can get the correct basket height for the water level in a reasonable amount of time. I had it assembled and installed in 20 minutes. By late morning the detritus that I observed on the surface of the pool was gone and the basket was a quarter full. Most of the smaller material went into the filter. The pool is in the backyard, so the grand kids manage to drag grass clippings with them, even though I have a small pool deck, but this skimmer manages it well.

2024-09-04T00:00:00I just installed this and I'm giving it 2 stars just because the instructions that come with it are almost useless. Just as one example, it shows - and there are included - 4 small rubber discs inserted into holes on the bottom of the main basket. Are these supposed to be removed? What function do they serve? Why are they there? Do they need to be periodically replaced? The printed instruction guide says absolutely nothing, only that they are "included". It doesn't even name what they are - only that there are four of "them". And when I got it set up and running, little bugs and debris on the surface just float past it like it isn't even there. I verified the pump is drawing water from the intake and the skimmer is attached to the intake correctly - according to the "instructions". I'll wait a few days and see how it does but I think this is going to be a return in a few days....

2024-08-03T00:00:00Overall the surface skimmer works and the only negative was the pump I have is the one that came with the pool. So it did not have a strong enough suction to perform 100%, even though it is still collecting bugs, and some leafs. Installing it was very easy and had multiple options.
