My callouses are very hard and quite thick, and no amount of foot cream or lotion will reduce the problem at all. I have tried other kinds of foot rasps, and this is the only one that is able to tackle these really hard and thick callouses. However, you have to be very cautious using this foot rasp. You can easily shred your skin and draw blood. RECOMMENDATION: First, soak your feet in warm water for 10-15 minutes. The callouses soak up water and become pliable and soft. You will be surprised at how easily the rasp will remove the dead skin after soaking in warm water. This also makes it easier to remove the dead skin without harming the good skin. If your callouses are thick, do not even try to scrap them while they are dry and hard. It is best to go slow, removing a little bit at the time, using two-three sessions instead of trying to get it all at once. You can definitely cause bleeding by trying too hard at first. If this is your first time using, it is hard to tell when you take too much skin and cause bleeding. This rasp is definitely only for hard, thick callouses. -

2023-12-31T00:00:00Listen, I have deep cracks on my otherwise well maintained feet. Starting to become a concern. I've used my orbital sander from my workshop on these heals like any normal guy would, right? 50-100 grit works wonders on dry feet. (the women are laughing right now) It worked, but not good enough unless I kept at it and even then, just not enough to level out deep cracks. This rasp is amazing. When you read do not apply pressure, we mean it. It is sharp and both ways (pushing and pulling). Just glide it over easily without pressing. It will shave off calluses like you've never seen. I did this first before applying the callus remover and it worked great to give me a head start. Better go outside because it will leave lots of callus and dust. Then I decided it was time to us this: "Lee Beauty Professional Callus Remover for Feet - 8 Oz, Original, Powerful Formulation." You need to put a rubber glove on and treat this with respect also. Chemical dissolves the dead skin (callus). Wash your feet, soak for about 15-20 min. Dry, then apply gel and let set undisturbed for about 15-20 min. Then wipe off with paper towel. It's not water soluble so it is slimy and greasy and rinsing won't work so well. Just wipe it off and throw paper towel away. Then, start rasping and you will see TONS of callus coming off. Doesn't seem like something to celebrate but this is NOT trivial when you are developing deep cracks in your heals. If you don't take care of your feet you won't be walking! I wish I had taken a before and after pic because the difference is truly amazing. I did not anticipate a miracle so I didn't take pics. Trust me.....this is the ticket if you are developing cracks and need to remove hard calluses so you can get your soft, healthy feet back. I'm a dude but I recognize the importance of ordinary hygiene and bodily care. It's more about function than looks. Who looks at your heals? Take care of your feet and this is the way to do it if you are in my shoes (pun intended). Kudos to both products. Reasonably priced and great value.

2024-11-01T00:00:00With age my heels seem to stay dry and slightly crack at the edges no matter how much moisturizer I use on them. I have used a mild callous scrubber in the shower for years that helped a little but didn’t really make a huge difference. This thing took all the hard dry skin off and to my surprise my heels are actually smooth and soft again. It’s been a long time since I’ve had that.

I did online search's for the best foot rasp as the ones I had purchased were completely ineffective. My skin was tough and it made them dull the first time I used them.
