2024-10-31T00:00:00This is an ok product, but definitely not as user friendly as previous versions. I used the 2014 version for years and loved it. Thought I'd try an upgrade to get more household items, beds, appliances, etc... so I got this. While there are more items, I really don't like the way it's set up. Wish it functioned as easily as the 2014 version, but I'll still use it.

2023-07-22T00:00:00This product can't really be used for anything but very basic designs. Home Designer suite does not have any of the tools to modify drawings beyond just basic walls and default roofs. If you want to design anything beyond a basic box, this is not the product you need. Very good for designing a basic box with some basic roof styles. If you want to vary your design at all you have to purchase the full Chief Architect program. I did my research on their website, watched their "training" videos and the tools in the videos that allow custom roof lines, varying wall heights and more, are not included in Home Designer.

2023-12-10T00:00:00This is a great product. Admittedly, I don’t have much to compare it with, execpt a free online home design website. There are definitely some tricks to doing less simple things, but it seems like almost anything is possible if you are willing to put in the effort to learn it.

2020-01-11T00:00:00As the other reviews say, this software is difficult to learn and use. It is more cumbersome than many other softwares, but that is not the reason for the low score. They do offer many videos and step by step guides on how to use and once you get started learning it, it starts to flow easier. You just need more experience in home building to be able to use this. The reason for the lower review is that everything I read said you can install this software on multiple computers at once, which is true. But what they don't tell you until after you buy it, is that while you can INSTALL it, you can only activate it on one computer at a time. Every time you want to use it on another computer, you have to deactivate the key and activate it on the other computer. If you want to use the software on 2 computers without deactivating, you have to have another key, which will cost you another $100. But no where in their advertising does it say this.

Its took us about two months to figure it all out but once your passed that stage its a great program. Lots of fun building your home or even a small project. Use the online tutorial and take your time,dont rush, do a little each day and you will figure it out sooner than you think.

2021-06-10T00:00:00I purchased the program but did not get around to activating it until after the 30 day return window closed. Trying to get in now is impossible. The company says the problem is with Amazon. I can't seem to figure out how to access Amazon past the 30 days. -
