      We had a larger Krupps for many years (so long we went thru about 4 replacements of the pricy 14 oz carafe). That Krupps finally died, so we bought this one. Works basically well. It is smaller, and doesn't take the No. 4 cones that the first Krupps did, and only has a 10 oz carafe. The smaller carafe is not a problem, as there are only the two of us, and my wife rarely has coffee in the AM. The basket is flat bottomed, so I should buy some Mr. Coffee-type filters, but so far I am just trimming off about an inch of the ubbleached No. 4 cones and making do, placing them in the basket, and it is working OK. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the button that determines the "boldness" of the coffee brew - pushing this button does nothing; however, it appears to be stuck on "bold", which works for me.

      KRUPS 7211002967 EC321 Coffee Machine, 12-Cup I am pleased with my purchase. My coffee tastes so much better. All functions are working properly no issues with any part of the machine. It brews quickly. I have not used the water filter feature. I am using the same coffee that I was in the old machine so I was pleasantly surprised with the taste. I have noticed that the flavor isn't quite as good if I don't use the clean cycle when the clean light comes on & I ignored it for a few days. So very important to use the clean cycle when the light comes on. I use a regular paper coffee filter in the reusable filter that came with it only for easier clean up so I don't rinse any grounds down my drain, better for the septic system. The only thing I do not like about the machine is that it drips water on the counter if you open the lid all the way. It is a bit taller than most coffee makers & is a tight fit under the cubbard, we have to pull it right to the edge of the counter to put water & coffee in it.

      The coffee maker uses either the supplied gold-tone filter OR a paper basket filter (I prefer the paper filter).

      We’ve just buried our first Krupas coffee and expresso maker after 27 years, we ordered a new Krups. The first pot after following directions was ok, maybe weak but then on a work day it tasted like plastic, very disappointing. We’re going to try it again and if it smells and tastes like plastic it’s going back! That’s all I got so far!
