2024-11-23T00:00:00Honestly, it operates the same as a regular one. I never have to remember to charge it because the battery lasts forever. For people looking at the newer kindle, I NEVER turned the brightness all the way up so I feel like this would be a good option. The case is quirky and it was better deal for me. It’s the perfect size to throw in just about any purse, and my bags get pretty small. I also have a scribe, and I keep that one at home. This is great for the bus. Even with the case it did scratch somehow, I’m not sure but it’s plastic that feels quality enough and didn’t impact the screen at all. I like the little lip vs the flush screen of the paper white. There is next to no glare and I feel like the lip helps protect the screen. It’s perfect for me and my needs of causal reading on the go or comfortable reading in bed. -

Honestly this was worth every dollar. The battery life lasts so long. It takes about a month until it needs to be charged again. I'm more of a physical book reader, but sometimes books can be bulky to carry every where. This can fit in my back pocket or bag. It's easy to use, and I have no issues reading the words off this Kindle. I definitely would recommend this to readers and anyone that likes hand held technology. -

2023-02-06T00:00:00I traded two previous paperwhite models (2019 & 2021) and decided to buy this “kids” one on sale, which may be viewed as a downgrade to some but it worked out perfectly for my needs. This is advertised as a kids model but it’s actually a 2022 kindle basic with 16gb storage, no ads, and a cover included. Just cancel the included kid’s subscription and you’ve got a great kindle bundle for an amazing deal! The slight blurring from “flush” screen of the paperwhite always gave me a headache but I don’t have that problem with this kindle as the text is very crisp and clean. It is very lightweight without the cover and very durable without the cover also. I just toss it in my bag and go. I use a popsocket on it and can read comfortably for hours. It’s compact without takinc away from the reading experience and am absolutely viewing this as an upgrade from my heavier & slightly blurry paperwhite. Back lighting on this is more than sufficient and dark mode is superb. Don’t fall for the “gotta have that warm backlight” fallacy. It’s really not necessary enough to pay higher price for the new paperwhite. Highly recommend this “paperwhite mini” for anyone who loves reading and also loves a good bargain. -

2024-07-31T00:00:00I've wanted a kindle my entire life, so I bought it during prime day, and have been obsessed with it ever since! Battery life seems to be really good, size is absolutely perfect, reading is so easy and fun on it, it performs amazing, and its a great bang for your buck! The only criticism I have, is a sea turtle themed case would be an awesome included case, but the whales are just as cute! -

2024-09-25T00:00:00I LOVE THIS! Im not sure I would like the bigger paperwhite because this size is perfect for me. In case you were wondering, YES this can work for adults too. You’re not required to set up parentals or anything. The quality and weight are nice and so is the battery life. The functionality is there as well because you don’t have to carry books around you can just download as many books as you need and it’s all readable right there at your fingertips! -

2024-06-26T00:00:00This is my first e-reader, and I selected Kindle Kids in part because of Wirecutter's review. I like that it came with a cute case and was supposed to be ad-free. Once I opted out of the Kids option, though, I do get some ads, though the ads are not distracting. I really love that it is SO light and very easy to bring along wherever I go. It works so well in bright sunlight. I also like being able to adjust the font size if my eyes are tired. I am not sure I will go back to paperback books! -

2023-09-01T00:00:00Purchasing the Kindle device for my 9-year-old son has been a game-changer. His reading habits have undergone a remarkable transformation, with a staggering 200% increase in his reading time. This device has become an integral part of his life, accompanying him on vacations and long road trips, making it an invaluable addition to our family. -

2024-09-26T00:00:00My kids already enjoy reading but the fact that this features a backlit screen in a lightweight, compact design is just topping on the cake. My son brings it on trips, errands and asks to read before bed. I try to keep it loaded with as many free books as he can find on Amazon. We also sometimes check out books from the library, which is really convenient. The screen resolution is great but if your kids enjoy reading graphic novels they may find some of them difficult to read depending on how they're formatted. The screen is simply too small to enjoy some graphic novels.
