These hoops are very well made. The wood is soft and smooth and there are no splinters. The screw closure tightens very effectively! I am using the hoops to embroider and hang simple winter scenes in small places around my home.

I like these better than plastic as they are more malleable than the plastic. I also like the tautness more than the plastic.

the small ones are really good and have lasted me awhile but the biggest one broke after just a few days. you get what you pay for but it’s definitely worth it for the smaller ones

You won't be able to use these to hold your project as you embroider because it won't hold the fabric tight enough, so I like to use a smaller plastic hoop and move it around the project as I embroider. This is an issue I have with every wood hoop, so the solution is just to use wood hoops for display only. When my embroidery is finished, I also hot glue down the edges in the back of the hoop so they won't slip out
