2022-11-03T00:00:00We replaced an identical one we had because our daughter used oven cleaner on the top and made the biggest mess you ever saw. The paint came up only partly leaving a sticky gooey mess that never went away. Worse than this, every dirty piece of lint, dust, bugs -- everything stuck to it. The nightmare from there is that all the aforementioned debris stuck so good, you could no way wash it off! All of this is not the to the detriment of this great item, of course.

2018-12-07T00:00:00Update: It's been two years and the hood has worked flawlessly. I've had to buy a new range hood though because of a grease fire. This one is surprisingly still under $40 and I was so satisfied with the last one that I bought it again. Another reason for repurchasing this one is that I've already done all the preliminary work and it will slip right in. No figuring, cutting or buying additional parts. I'm sure I'll get more than two years out of this one as long as I don't burn my house down. -

2023-01-30T00:00:00Considering the price, this is a pretty good deal. I replaced my old GE 7" round ducted hood with the Broan stainless steel hood also with the round duct. The dimensions were pretty much the same as the old one. Install wasn't too tough, helps to have an extra set of hands to hold the hood while mounting. All in all you can't beat it for the price. Looks good too, no issues with mine.

2023-12-15T00:00:00the venting hole fit my size and space, the buttons are in a good position - easy to see and not likely to get greasy, matches the range, fans are quiet, low fan speed notice the switch is on more than the sound, put a modern 5 watt refrigerator light in the socket, has more light than the old unit, and less likely to color the shade, the lamp shade and vent screen unit is a little harder to fasten than the old spring clasps, but is more secure too.

Easy to install, fit the space, easy lightbulb access and the fan is a perfect amount and not superbly loud. Great value, hands down.

2021-09-21T00:00:00It doesn't need a 7"opening for the CFM's of the fan (170). The 7" round opening made it hard to tie into the 4" that we had coming from the roof. We made it work, but costly to do.
