Unfortunately there was nothing less than one star or else that's what I'd choose. I ordered this item and it came damaged. I returned it and ordered a replacement, and IT came damaged. I again returned it and ordered a replacement, and IT came damaged. The first one was obviously damaged in transit because the outside box was damaged. But the 2nd and 3rd were obviously quality control issues as it was impossible for the aluminum lining the freezer bowl to be totally bent out of shape by an outside force when every other part of the icecream maker was perfectly fine. Cuisinart really let me down. On top of all that I STILL don't have my homemade icecream!

The bowl took nearly 48 hours to freeze, this likely says more Bout my freezer then the bowl. Once the bowl was finnal frozen and we attempted to use it the turning spatula did not fit into the bowl due to the bowl beeing frozen and contracted and the spatula being warm and expanded. Once i finally got the patula in the bowl the machines motor wasnt strong enough to spin. I had to turn the spatula by hand to get everything going. Im sure this ussue would be solved by having the spatula in the freezer for a few hours pripor to making the ice cream. Once i got the machine running it did really well, utill about the 10 minute mark of the recommended 20 minutes of turning. The motor again was to week to keep turning and it started stoping and reversing direction several times. At that point we turned it off to scoop out the ice cream. It was just slightly softer then soft served and after a couple hours in the freezer it was a very nice firm store bought ice cream consistancy. Im not overly impressed but im also not disappointed considering the price of the machine and the fact that it did indeed make a very good icecream.

The issue with this product is that the motor is not strong enough to churn the ice cream. After approximately 5-10 revolutions it stalls. At this point the paddle moves won't turn anymore. This is odd because the ice cream base is still the same texture as when it went into the machine. The mixture is only frozen along the side of the bowl. Since the motor is not strong enough to move the paddle past the frozen ice cream on the side of the bowl, 90% of the mixture in the middle stays liquid and doesn't set. Would not recommend this product.

I expected much better from Cuisinart. The bucket bends in your hand as you put the parts in and It's clumsy to put together. But worst of all is the super low 12 watt motor on it. I doubt it can make firm ice cream. I returned it unused so giving it 1 star would be unfair.
